How I would rank the Mission Impossible films as

  1. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation (2015) Love the locations, physical comedy, the fun, crazy stunts, music. The Airplane, Mission, Protagonist, Super well passed.

  2. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011) This has my favorite music, opening credits, cast, comedy, locations, enjoy the gadgets in this film. Love how the gadgets are a character of this film. Super well passed. Loved the cast in this film.

  3. Mission Impossible III (2006) This has my favorite protagonist in the franchise. The ticking bomb works in this film.

  4. Mission Impossible Fallout (2018) Love how this ties to the rest of the franchise. Impressive stunts. I feel like the story is too series.

  5. Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 (2023) Amazing action. Well written protagonist.

  6. Mission Impossible (1996) The only one that uses no guns. It has interesting twist. But heavy in dialogue exposition.

  7. Mission Impossible 2 (2000) even though the film has a great opening the plot and romance story don't work for me. The film has its moments but it is cheesy in the action. I am not invested in the protagonist. I really could care less about the plot of the film. I wish the locations played a better part in the story.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny 2023 film review

It has lots of action scenes. It feels like a real authentic Indiana Jones film. Very different from Indiana Jones and Crystal Skull that felt fictional. This film felt grounded.

It was a pretty good film. I enjoyed it more than Temple of Doom and Crystal Skull.

This is a movie that felt like an Indiana Jones film unlike Crystal Skull that felt a bit out of place in the final act.

It was cool seeing a scene going under water with 1960's technology and making the scene look like it was shot in the late 1960s. I am not used to seeing a scene like that. The Eels were interesting thing we had not seen before in a film.

This is the first Indiana Jones film without snakes somehow being absent in the film.

It was nice hearing the established themes from previous films but I wish that the new themes stood out more in the film.

It was interesting seeing several time eras represented in the film.

I hated that the film did not start the way the previous four films started with the Paramount mountain being the way it started. I wish that there was a mountain or a artifact to start off with like in the other films.

My biggest problem I have is I don’t really like the new characters in this film. I don’t feel invested in their stories or characters throughout the film. The new characters did not really have redeeming qualities. Mads Mikkelsen & Antonio Banderas are the two new characters I enjoyed watching on screen but even they were characters never felt full invested in.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is one of Harrison Ford’s better performances on screen in a while. Although I have enjoyed his role in the Paramount show 1923.

I did feel like the score was the least memorable of the John Williams scores for the Indiana Jones franchise. It was nice hearing the nostalgic themes from previous films but hated that the new themes did not really stand out that much. I think maybe the fact that the new characters really did not stand out as remarkable may have played a role in that.

The final act of the film has a nice twist I did not see coming even though it is kind of hinted or foreshadowed at in the film by an artifact in the body?

Selma (2014) film review.

I feel like the film is not as effective for me as I would like. Mainly because I was not not as invested in the characters as I should be. It sets up the situation rather than also developing the people in the film.

I also feel like the fact that this film is dialogue heavy and not much music does not help either to stay focused.

I liked seeing the preacher aspect and the fact that Martin Luther was a pastor emphasised in this film.

I felt like for a film focusing on Martin Luther King it should have focused more on the emotional aspect to get invested in the people more. I did not feel that enough. Instead it felt like a general aspect and focused on relationship between Martin Luther King and the President and being monitored and bugged by the Federal government.

I feel like the casting for the figures of Martin Luther King and President Johnson does not work as well as it should.

I feel like I have seen stronger Civil Rights films that hit more emotionally in things like The Color of Friendship, Remember of the Titans, 42, The Express or even Quantum Leap episodes.

The Flash (2023) film review

I saw #TheFlash. I could not believe what I witnessed. Oh my Gosh!!!!! There are nice deep cuts in the film like the Back to the Future casting of #MartyMcFly character. This has to be some of the best #Batman stuff ever from all the variations. I was impressed by the explanation of Time travel. This was a nicely passed film. I never felt like the film was lagging. I think it might upon my Top 10 list for superhero films.

This was the best versions of Batman explained in a simple way.

Loved seeing the different versions of Superman and Batman in this film. It was a great homage to what came before in the DC universe with also the things we could have gotten but never had the chance to. This film has a Deep cutt of Nicholas Cage.

This was the best we have seen of the Michael Keaton & Ben Affleck versions of Batman. I enjoyed seeing Michael Shannon portraying General Zod once again. I feel like this film showed just how strong General Zod was and shows how strong Superman was and importance of Superman in Man of Steel. This film showed how strong General Zod was in the universe even more so compared to what we saw in Man of Steel.

This film shows how changing a few things can make a significant difference.

I loved the explanation of time travel in this film. They Explained time travel in a way that was simple to comprehend and made sense. This is also a good film showing how altering something simple as much as where something is can play a significant role in time. I liked how this film shows the origin story but showed an alternate version of events.

I thought it was interesting about Tom Cruise cast in Foot Loose and Kevin Bacon in Maverick's role in Top Gun instead of Tom Cruise portraying Maverick. I did not necessarily catch the actors and roles that got flipped till seeing the film a second time.

I did not realize screenplay writer for this film also wrote Bumblebee and Birds of Prey.

The problem I had was the running sequences with the feet looked odd because he looked like he was walking yet moving fast and that made no sense.

I liked seeing the origins of Flash getting his powers.

I thought this film took a risky choice seeing characters we were investing in due and say that version of the world was never supposed to exist.

I loved the musical score in this film and hints to other themes.

I loved the beginning of the end credits with the dog falling from the beginning of the film. I liked how they connected the beginning to the end.

Despite the Ezra Miller situation this is a Great film as far as story and paying respect to the characters, comics and pop culture.

Peter & Wendy (2023) on Disney+

I was visually impressed with the film. It feels very cinematic in the look.

I liked how the costumes, locations and how the sets look.

I was bit sad that the Mermaids were not used for a story aspect when we see them get to Neverland.

Captain Hooks ship I liked.

I loved the camera movements and wide angle lenses in the film.

The lost Boys I liked their costumes and look.

I loved the new music and original songs for this film.

I don't think this was my favorite version of the Peter Pan story but it was nice version. It was interesting seeing the lost boys in this underground world.
